HSV: Hoffmann for “double leadership” - Meier is probably thinking about Hrubesch

Hamburg (SID) Presidential candidate Bernd Hoffmann (55) has spoken out in favor of a reorganization at the top of the Bundesliga soccer club Hamburger SV. “I would really like to build a CEO who, together with the supervisory board, would lead the company in the best possible way. I actually imagine that as a kind of dual leadership,” Hoffmann told Sport Bild: “That is a model that exists in many successful clubs works at home and abroad." Hoffmann, chairman of the Hamburg board from 2003 to 2011, will be running as a challenger against incumbent Jens Meier (51) for the post of club president of the entire club at the HSV general meeting on Sunday. Meier has headed HSV since January 2015, and the CEO of the Port of Hamburg is also the deputy head of the supervisory board. According to information from the Hamburger Abendblatt, if Meier is re-elected, he could bring former HSV legend Horst Hrubesch (66), currently DFB sports director, into his team as an advisor. At the general meeting on Sunday, Meier will present who will be available to advise the supervisory board.
