Ibrahimovic “strikes” again

Ibrahimovic, currently under contract with Los Angeles Galaxy, gave his opponent Lee Nguyen a slight slap in the face during a pack formation in the city derby against Los Angeles FC. The Swede did not receive a ban.

Nguyen commented on Twitter after the game. "I don't know the rules exactly, but apparently it's okay to hit other players in the face today," the 31-year-old wrote. He also shared a video of the incident. It's not the first incident that Ibrahimovic has had in the USA caused a negative stir.

The Swede had already attracted negative attention before: In May, he received his first and only red card in the MLS when he also punched Montreal Impact's Michael Petrasso in the face after he stepped on his foot.

But the 36-year-old also has to take it: Back then, Ibrahimovic was still in Manchester United's uniform when he fought a real battle on the field with Bournemouth's Tyrone Mings.

The Swede is known to be tough in duels. This was also the case against the now 25-year-old. During a header duel, the star striker hit the defender in the face with his elbow with full force.

A few moves later, Tyrone Mings tackled Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic and climbed onto the head of the Swede, who was still on the ground, as he ran past.

There were other sensitive scenes during the game, but neither man was sent off.
