Merano lost at home to Lumezzane.

Meran Women: The fight for second place will be exciting

At the weekend, South Tyrol's best women's team suffered a bitter home defeat. Meran Women lost to Lumezzane.

In the Combi Stadium in Merano, Passerstadt's Lumezzane lost 2-1. In the 17th minute, Velati gave the guests from Lombardy a 1-0 lead. This was also the break point. In the second half the home team turned up the heat and equalized the game. Nadine Nischler converted a penalty to equalize. For Nischler it was the 30th goal in the 26th game. Gritti previously saw the red card. However, the Merano team could not take advantage of this and in the 70th minute Picchi scored the 2-1 winning goal for Lumezzane.


In the table, the Meraners are still in second place with 4 rounds to go. However, thanks to the victory, Lumezzane was able to shorten the gap to Nischler & Co. to just 2 points.
