Nations League: Schroffenegger stays in Group B with Italy

The final group games in the Women's Nation League took place on Tuesday. Italy celebrated a victory over Switzerland. Katja Schroffenegger was in the Azzurre squad.

The goalkeeper from Karneid has been a guest on the national team for years. Schroffenegger was currently also traveling with the Italian team. There was a 3-0 win against Switzerland in Parma on Tuesday.


Manuela Giugliano gave Italy the lead after 31 minutes. Shortly after the break, Cecilia Salvai made it 2-0. After that there was no sign of the Swiss and the Azzurre dominated the action at will. Arianna Caruso scored the final score in the 85th minute. Schroffenegger sat on the substitutes' bench for 90 minutes.

However, the Italian team remains in the B season of the Nations League thanks to the victory. World champions Spain made it to Group A. Switzerland was relegated. Italy came in second, ahead of Sweden.
