1-7 defeat: Roma are embarrassed to the bone

It was an evening to forget for AS Roma. Against Fiorentina, which is in 9th place in the Serie A table and therefore four places behind the capital city team, the weak, weak and listless team suffered a 1:7 defeat.

Young star Federico Chiesa put Fiorentina on the road to victory early on with a double strike (7th and 18th minute). Roma defender Aleksander Kolarov briefly reduced the score to 1:2 with a powerful shot (28'), but just a few minutes later Luis Muriel restored the old gap (33').

In the second half, all the dams broke for last year's Champions League semi-finalists. After a mistake in the build-up to the game, Marco Benassi increased the score to 4-1 (66th), then substitute Dzeko picked up a red card for protests (72nd), before Chiesa scored his third goal (74th) and substituted Giovanni Simeone joined in a double pack increased the score to 7:1.

Fiorentina is therefore in the semi-finals. There Chiesa & Co. will meet the winner of the game Atalanta against Juventus.
