FC Südtirol enters the Italian Cup with victory

The FCS immediately took the reins into their hands, the first dangerous attack came after less than two minutes after an action in depth: Morosini played to Mazzocchi, who immediately sent Costantino on his way. The second half initially started without any further changes, the FCS tried to increase the number of hits. And it worked - the white-reds took the lead just eight minutes after the restart: Oneto earned a free kick on the right, which Morosini delicately brought into the middle onto the head of Rocco Costantino, who headed it in to make it 1-0 for the FCS . It was the first competitive goal for Mister Zanetti's boys of the new season. But just two minutes later - as if out of the blue - the guests' equalizer came straight away: Corsetti ran towards the White-Red penalty area, let Ierardi get out at full speed and shot, his shot was deflected by Casale and found the ball Offredi passes, the way into the net to equalize 1-1.

The FCS was more fluid in its moves in the second half, but the rhythm was still relatively slow. The players were visibly feeling the heavy feet from the two weeks of preparation in the training camp. Mister Zanetti switched from the usual 3-5-2 system to a 4-2-3-1 in the final phase, Morosini played behind striker Costantino, Turchetta and Fabbri acted as wings. In midfield now Fink and De Rose as a duo. In the 82nd minute, Costantino skilfully set up Fabbri, who entered the Albalonga penalty area and, in a 1-on-1 against Del Moro, chose to lob instead of shoot into the far corner. The visitors' keeper was able to fend off the shot for a corner.

However, this gave FC Südtirol the lead again in the 83rd minute: Morosini hit the corner into the middle, where Vinetot was in the right place, rose up and headed it in to make it 2-1. A few minutes later, Costantino had the preliminary decision on his head and on his foot twice, after being served exemplary by Turchetta on both occasions.

Then nothing much happened, the white-reds managed the lead without any problems and, thanks to a 2-1 win against Albalonga, deservedly moved into the second round of the Coppa Italia, where they will face Venezia next Sunday, August 5th ( Serie B). So the new season opened with a win.
