Scary cup quarter-finals: Oberliga vs. Landesliga

Halloween night in football South Tyrol is dedicated to the Amateur Italian Cup. There was a lot of excitement on the home pitches in the quarter-finals. In all four games of the evening, regional league teams meet upper league teams. As a reminder: In the round of 16, the regional and upper league teams remained among themselves. The constellation of group games meant that there were only duels within the league (click here for the round of 16 report) .

But now the little ones are challenging the big ones. It is those cup evenings under floodlights that define this competition. Who will trip up the favorite? Who will advance to the next round against the higher-class opponent? Questions that will be answered on Wednesday evening. The runners-up to the semi-finals will be determined in a single match; if there is a tie after 90 minutes, the penalty shootout will decide.

Oberliga team Obermais meets the third-placed team in the regional league, Milland, at home. Brixen, currently in third place in the league, doesn't want to give in to Bruneck, who are playing one class lower. Meanwhile, state league team Stegen goes into the game against upper league team St. Martin/Moos as underdogs.

Latsch wants to surprise at home against Tramin. The Vinschgers were able to surprise in the group phase and won the group, including a 3-0 win away to Oberliga side Naturns.
