Lazio wins the 11-game thriller and is in the semi-finals

What a crazy game: After 90 minutes it was 0-0, both teams had not taken advantage of their chances to score in regular time (including Ciro Immobile 31st, Lautaro Martinez 94th). In extra time, captain Immobile gave Lazio the lead in the 108th minute, after which things got really hectic. In the 115th minute, Kwadwo Asamoah (Inter) committed a hard foul on Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (Lazio), the referee drew a red card. After studying the video images, Asamoah didn't have to leave the pitch; the red card turned into a yellow card.

Penalty at the last second In injury time of extra time, Inter threw everything forward, Milinkovic-Savic went too hard into a duel on the edge of the penalty area, the referee had to use VAR again and decided on a penalty. Stefan Radu (Lazio) was seething, insulted the referee and had to go to the dressing room with a red card for complaining. Inter captain Mauro Icardi defeated Lazio goalie Thomas Strakosha and equalized in the last second to make it 1-1. So extra time ended without a winner and the quarter-finals had to be decided on penalties. Strakosha holds Penalty takers on both sides were trembling, Lautaro Martinez (Inter) and Riza Durmisi (Lazio) were denied by the opposing goalie. As the fifth shooter for Inter, Radja Nainggolan went to the penalty spot and after a short run-up he wanted to shoot the ball under the crossbar - but Strakosha saw through the maneuver and intercepted the ball. Lucas Leiva then scored the decisive shot for Lazio to secure their ticket to the Italian Cup semi-finals. There the Romans meet Milan.

Fiorentina and Atalanta will contest the second semi-final.

The quarter-finals in the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia) between Inter and Lazio were only decided on penalties, in the end Lazio secured their ticket to the semi-finals.
