With local power: FC Südtirol in the cup final

After the 4-0 first leg win on January 18th, FC Südtirol's entry into the cup final was only a formality. That's why coach Ivan Javorcic let the second guard play in the second leg at the Drusus Stadium. They did an excellent job and won 3-1. In the cup final, the FCS will face its closest rival in the league, namely Padova. Game 1 will take place on March 9th in the “Euganeo”, and the pot will then be presented in the second leg on April 6th in the Drusus Stadium.

Javorcic really shook up his starting eleven on Wednesday. Three South Tyroleans, Jonas Heinz, Hannes Fink and Manuel Fiwickeler, also got their chance. In his first starting eleven appearance since November 14th (the last time he was missing due to a broken nose), Filehner first scored with a header to make it 1-1. The 18-year-old Naturnser Jonas Heinz, who celebrated his starting eleven debut as a right-back, gave the cross. In the final phase, the young Noah Mayr from Eppan was also able to collect his first professional minutes. With an overall score of 7:1, the FCS advanced to the final in a dominant manner. This is the first final for the White-Reds in the Serie C Italian Cup. The 23-year-old was spot on after a Beccaro shot. Fishneck increased Fischlerler scores again (57th). After a one-two with Beccaro, the striker stayed cool and converted to make it 3-1. FC Südtirol continues on Sunday (14.30 p.m.) with the home league game against Mantova. Then the rested forces like Fabian Tait will return to the starting eleven.
