Scary tension: the Italian Cup semi-finals are here

Floodlit atmosphere and big against small: Wednesday evening in local amateur football promised pure cup feeling. In the quarter-finals, only top and regional league teams faced each other.

The runners-up to the semi-finals were determined in a single match; if there had been a tie after 90 minutes, the penalty shootout would have decided, but none of the four games got that far.

Horror night for St. Martin Moos Going into the game as the clear favorite, the Halloween evening turned into a real horror night for upper league team St. Martin Moos. Jan Fontana had given the guests the lead after 16 minutes, but after half an hour, national league team Stegen equalized. In the second round, the favored Passeirians felt like they were in a nightmare with Freddy Krueger.

First Elias Mairhofer scored to give the home team the lead, then Stefan Hilber increased the score to 3-1. St. Martin Moos managed to catch up again shortly before the end, but Simon Harrasser made the final decision in the 90th minute. Milland doesn't give FCO nightmares Oberliga team Obermais, however, didn't let anything go wrong. The FCO clearly won the game against the third-placed team in the national league, Milland, 3-0. The favorite had to wait around an hour until Daniel Lanthaler scored the opening goal. In the 80th minute, Martin Ciaghi made everything clear with a penalty. Lanthaler for the second time ensured a befitting result for the upper league team.

Back and forth we went in Latsch. After Rafael Pomella (29th) and Dennis Psenner (58th) gave the guests the lead, the outsiders struck back. Alex Kiem (61st) and Arlind Dinolli (71st) scored for regional league team Latsch. But it wasn't quite enough. Dennis Psenner dashed the home team's dreams in the 80th minute and prevented the Tramin horror evening on Halloween.

Brixen also had a hard time in Bruneck. After a goalless first half, the hosts, who were playing a league lower, took the lead after 72 minutes through Martin Falkensteiner. However, with a double strike within a few minutes, the Brixen team were able to turn the game around shortly before the end and escape the nightmare in literally the last minute.
