Como has parted ways with coach Moreno Longo despite a 1-0 win at Ascoli Calcio at the weekend. This came as quite a surprise because the Lombards were 7th in the table. were actually fully on track for the playoffs. His successor will be none other than the previous Primavera coach Cesc Fabregas.
There is probably a long-term plan behind the Indonesian owner's considerations. With Fabregas at the helm, the club, whose stadium is located directly on Lake Como, is to be made more popular. Fabregas initially came to the famous tourist resort as a player last summer. However, the now 36-year-old had already passed his peak and ended his career in the summer.

Now Fabregas can try his hand at being head coach of a Serie B team. A lot is expected of the former world-class midfielder, who became world and European champions with Spain. Fabregas will be playing with Como at the Drusus Stadium in Bolzano on December 3rd. However, the former Barca player must be provided with an assistant with a coaching license because Fabregas does not yet have one.
A lot going on in Serie B
There is also a lot going on in the Serie B coaching market. Last week, Cristiano Lucarelli (Ternana) and Daniele Gastaldello (Brescia) were released. Ex-FCS coach Stefano Vecchi, who was only kicked out of Feralpisaló at the end of October, is being discussed as a successor at chaos club Brescia. Another former coach of FC Südtirol, William Viali, currently has to worry about his job at Ascoli. The table
