The Serie B adventure begins in Brescia

There will be a reunion with former coach Ivan Javorcic on the second matchday. It was only at the beginning of June that FC Südtirol announced the departure of the successful coach. At the same time, Venice went public with the words “Welcome to Venice”. The 43-year-old has signed a three-year contract in the lagoon city. Under the Croatian's wing, the Venetians are likely to be a force to be reckoned with in the fight for promotion this year, as they were only relegated from Serie A last season and are probably burning for redemption.

Palermo (7th matchday) After forced relegation to the fourth division in 2019, the traditional club from Sicily is continuing its mission of “return to Serie A” in Serie B this year. Palermo defeated Padova in the Serie C playoffs and qualified for the season in the second highest Italian league. Jérémie Broh in particular will be eagerly awaiting the game against Palermo, as the agile midfielder only moved from Sicily to FCS last year.

Parma (10th matchday) With Parma, a real traditional club will play in the Drusus Stadium. Also there: Italy and Juventus legend Gianluigi Buffon. The team from Emilia-Romagna finished 12th in the table last season - a result that the FCS would be quite happy with in their debut season. It remains to be seen whether Casiraghi, Mazzocchi and Co. can give old master Buffon a few goals.

Cagliari (12th matchday) Cagliari is one of the three teams that had to say goodbye to Serie A last season. With only one point behind Salernitana, the Sardinians failed to stay in the league and had to go to Serie B. With Giovanni Simeone there was an established Serie A striker in the squad, but he had already been released to Verona. Nevertheless, there can only be one goal for Cagliari: promotion.

Bari (13th matchday) SSC Bari, together with FC Südtirol, has been promoted from Serie C to the next higher class. The Apulians could be possible opponents in the fight to stay in the league and tight games are expected. Especially since Manuel Scavone, a South Tyrolean and ex-FCS player, is under contract. However, it is not yet clear whether Scavone will stay at Bari. In the SportNews interview The Bolzano native was positive about staying: “Basically, I can imagine playing with Bari in Serie B. But in football you never know where the journey will take you."

Genoa (16th matchday) Captain Fabian Tait already said that the duel with Genoa CFC is an absolute blast for FC S+ interview expressed: “I am an Inter fan and watched the games on TV, for example against Genoa. This is huge.” The team from Liguria, having been relegated from last season's Serie A, has a lot to do and is likely to prove to be a tough challenge.
