The deal is fixed: Zaro goes to Modena

It has been hinted at and yet the transfer of Giovanni Zaro to Modena comes as a surprise. The FCS league competitor with one of the smallest budgets in Serie B has bought one of the best central defenders.

Zaro has 5 goals and one season as a regular player at FC Südtirol. The 29-year-old can claim his first Serie B season as a complete success. Nevertheless, Zaro and FC Südtirol part ways. The white-reds let the defender move to Modena.

On July 15, 2021, Zaro moved from Modena to South Tyrol. Now, almost exactly 2 years later, he is taking the opposite approach. The Emilians are bringing the central defender back and are transferring a mid-six-figure transfer fee to the FCS. Zaro has signed a three-year contract with Modena. The deal is fixed and has already been confirmed by Serie B. The two clubs have not yet issued a statement.

After a strong debut season in Serie B, Zaro ended up on the FCS sales list because he could not reach an agreement with the club about a long-term collaboration. The exact background to Zaro's exit from the White-Reds can be found here.
