Reinforcements for the FCS midfield

The 20-year-old Pompetti comes on loan from Inter. The 21-year-old Belardinellei joins on loan from Serie A club Empoli. Both have contracts until June 30, 2023

Born on May 22, 2000 in Pescara, Marco Pompetti is a central midfielder who primarily plays the position of playmaker. “He has an above-average overview of the game, but also shows great willingness to perform against the ball,” says a press release from FC Südtirol.

Pompetti grew up in football in the youth sector of his home club Pescara. In the 2016/17 season he made his first appearances - at the end of the championship there were 10 - with the Dolphins' junior team. In the following season, Pompetti moved to Inter Milan's “Primavera”. Under the leadership of coach Stefano Vecchi, he won the “Scudetto” and the prestigious Viareggio Cup at the first attempt. The “Nerazzurri” secured the Italian championship title thanks to a goal from Matteo Rover in extra time in the final against Fiorentina.

At the start of his second year in Milan, Armando Madonna was hired as the new junior head coach. His strong performances were highlighted by five goals - four in the regular season and one in the playoffs - and eleven assists - nine in the championship and two in the Serie C Cup.

Last season Belardinelli contested his first professional championship with Pro Vercelli in Serie C. Born on March 14, 2001 in Ravenna, Luca Belardinelli is a trained 8-man, although in his younger years he was primarily used as an attacking midfielder. The now 21-year-old grew up in Senigallia and already showed great talent in terms of technique, agility, personality and physical strength at his first club, the Vigorina football school.

Empoli scouts saw Belardinelli as a great talent and, after a few trial training sessions, were convinced to accept the young midfielder into their own football academy. In the U17 Empolis he developed into an absolute leader, whereupon he was entrusted with the team's captain's armband.

Under the leadership of current FCS coach Lamberto Zauli, Belardinelli achieved promotion to the “Primavera 2017” league in the 18/1 season. In the following season they managed to stay in the top junior league together. The midfielder was also one of the absolute key players under Zauli's successor, Antonio Buscè, and won the “Scudetto Primavera” with the Tuscans in the 2020/21 season. Nominated for youth national teams Belardinelli was called up for the Italy U2018 and U2020 teams respectively between 18 and 19 by national coaches Daniele Franceschini and Alberto Bollini. In February 2020, Roberto Mancini nominated him for an Azzurri stage, which had to be canceled due to the outbreak of the pandemic.
