A world star in Bolzano: Cannavaro meets the FCS

After he became a professional at his youth club Napoli, he moved to Parma in 1995. Cannavaro has not played as many games (289) for any other club. During his two years at Inter (2002 to 2004) he matured into the world's best defender. He then went to Juventus, which he left for Real Madrid in 2006 after forced relegation to Serie B. In 2009 he returned to Juve for a year, but he was now unpopular with the Tifosi. In contrast to club icons such as Alex Del Piero, Buffon, Pavel Nedved or Mauro Camoranesi, he turned his back on the Turin team after the betting scandal. From 2010 to 2012, Cannavaro ended his career in the Emirates and India. The coaching career Cannavaro's coaching career began in 2013 at Al-Ahli in the Emirates, where he worked as an assistant coach under Romanian Middle East football expert Cosmin Olaroiu. Cannavaro then moved to China and Saudi Arabia. The southern Italian was in China again from 2016 to 2021, at one point even serving as interim coach for two games for the Chinese national team.
