“Another World”: The first Serie B weekend of the FCS

Late on Saturday afternoon the FCS made its way to Lombardy. After a two-hour bus journey, the white and reds arrived at the hotel, which is around half an hour outside of Brescia, at around 19 p.m. “When we play away in big cities, we are always accommodated somewhere outside. “You just have more peace and quiet,” says Tait. Towards the end of the warm-up, Tait and Co. ran to the almost 100 FCS fans who had traveled with them. They were greeted with warm applause. Kick-off followed at 20.45:1 p.m. Tait & Co. were definitely nervous in the first half. Brescia let the ball run within their own ranks. However, apart from the free kick goal in the first half, the home team only had one opportunity to score, which Poluzzi was able to defuse. VAR & Co. In the second half, Tait and his teammates became more confident and had many more possession phases. From the 2th to the 45th minute, the FCS dominated the action almost at will. “Of course the game could have taken a different turn if Mazzocchi had taken the penalty. But we don't blame him. He is a good boy. We’ll get him back up again,” said Tait.

The man from Salur was really impressed by the atmosphere in the stadium: “For example, when Mazzocchi scored a penalty, I didn’t even hear the referee’s whistle. The whistles in the stadium were so loud.” In stoppage time, Tait almost crowned his performance with his first Serie B goal. But the 29-year-old was offside when he hit the header. “The referee decided that in conjunction with the VAR. He made it from amateur footballer (major league with Salurn) via Mezzocorona (Serie D) to Serie B - with FC Südtirol.
