First win! A penalty king redeems FC Südtirol

An all-round successful debut from coach Pierpaolo Bisoli, a successful comeback - FC Südtirol's second home game had a lot to offer. But the main reason for celebration was the result: FCS defeated Pisa 2-1.

In the duel with last year's playoff finalists, who only scored one point this season, FC Südtirol offered its best second division performance to date. Although weakened by many failures - both in defense and in attack (defender Vinetot and new striker Marconi were out at short notice) - the white-reds were at least equal to their opponents over 90 minutes. The around 600 fans from Pisa who traveled with us and who provided a worthy acoustic backdrop in the Drusus Stadium didn't like that at all. However, someone else became the match winner: Matteo Rover. The winger scored two ice-cold penalties in the 35th and 63rd minutes and literally turned the game around single-handedly. For Bisoli, who gave his protégés a passionate performance on the sidelines, the game was a dream debut. Short & sweet: The highlights of the game The first outcry The supposed lead of the FCS: After a corner, Zaro prevails in the middle. But the referee previously saw Odogwu offside. The goal is disallowed. Pisa's cold shower As if out of nowhere, Pisa goes to the front. After a cross from the right side, Ionita heads in the middle and puts the guests in the lead (23rd). Now everyone is cheering Odogwu is knocked down on the way to goal after a hole pass - penalty. Rover converted with a powerful shot to make it 1-1 (35th). Oh scary! Just three minutes after the 1:1, Pisa's Marin hit the bottom of the crossbar with a remarkable long shot. The situation is then defused.
