Former FCS coach Zanetti fired from Ascoli

Ascoli recently suffered three defeats in the league and slipped to 3th place in the table. The most recent defeat on Sunday against Frosinone was probably the last straw, although Ascoli was not necessarily one of the favorites for promotion before the start of the season. The Black and Whites finished last season in 13th place. Those in charge probably expected more after the strong start to the season (13 points after 12 games).

Primavera coach Guillermo Abascal is now taking over the reins at Ascoli, at least for the time being. For Zanetti, however, his second coaching position in the professional sector ends prematurely. The 2-year-old did an excellent job at FC Südtirol and led the club to the playoffs twice in a row.
