On Easter Monday, FC Südtirol will be playing in the Stadio Sinigaglia on the shores of Lake Como. In the run-up to the game, the opponent made people sit up and take notice with a training trip to Spain. Como is bridging the international break in sunny Marbella.
The six-day trip was orchestrated by Spanish world and European champion Cesc Fabregas, who, together with Welshman Osian Roberts, is in charge of the coaching bench and is also co-owner of the traditional club. Around the turn of the year, Como traveled to Marbella for training, where many clubs from Germany, the Netherlands and northern Europe also move in during the winter.
Comos Austria import not on board
Como flew to the Andalusian Mediterranean coast last Wednesday and will pack up again this Tuesday. First, however, there is a friendly match against the amateur club FC Bruno's Magpies from Gibraltar's top league. The Lombards have already completed a test kick under the Spanish sun: On Friday they drew 1-1 against Spanish first division club Cadiz CF.Ex-Milan striker Patrick Cutrone (l.) and Alessandro Gabrielloni want to go to Serie A with Como. © Como 1907
From Wednesday, the fourth-placed team will be focusing their attention entirely on FC Südtirol - at their home training facility in Mozzate, in the Comasker hinterland. The Cypriot national player Nicholas Ioannou and Austria's U21 team captain Matthias Braunöder, who are currently on an international trip, will also join us there.
