In Brixen: FCS is defeated by the Qatari champions

On Saturday evening there was an international test match between FC Südtirol and Al Duhail in the Sportzone Süd in Brixen, which the guests won.

The Qatari champion, coached by former star attacker Hernán Crespo, is currently completing his summer training camp in Seefeld and won against FCS 2-0. Young talent Raphael Kofler was in the starting line-up for the White-Reds. The 18-year-old from Untervinschger played alongside captain Fabian Tait in the central midfield of FC Südtirol.


In the bishop's city stadium, the numerous spectators saw a balanced initial phase. In the 18th minute of the game, the Qatari champions took a 1-0 lead through Diallo. The White Reds then created several promising chances to score, but were unable to put the ball in the opponent's goal.

After the break, the FCS became dangerous twice more. Odogwu won the running duel with his direct opponent and tried to overcome goalie Zakaria with a lob, but missed the opponent's box. The FCS was also unsuccessful in a later scuffle in Al Duhail's penalty area. In the 76th minute of the game, Almoez was able to overcome FCS goalkeeper Poluzzi with a powerful diagonal shot and fix the final score.

Bisoli happy

FCS coach Pierpaolo Bisoli was nevertheless not dissatisfied after the match: “The result did not reflect the course of the game. I am very satisfied with the team's performance. We’re still growing.”

Defender Marco Curto, who is said to be about to move to Serie B rival Como, did not play on Saturday. The FCS will play its first competitive game next Monday evening in the Coppa Italia. Then the guest game in Genoa against Sampdoria is on the program.
