With luck and brains: FCS wins in Pisa

FC Südtirol has rarely been as inferior in terms of play as it was this Saturday in Pisa. The home team dominated the game for large parts, but the 3 points go to Bolzano. A header from Luca Belardinelli (his first goal in Serie B) gave the white and red a narrow 1-1 win. Thanks to the threesome in Tuscany, the FCS remains in fourth place in the table. Pisa, on the other hand, has stumbled after a run of 0 games unbeaten at the end of the year. The Tuscans have not won any of their last 4 games (14 defeats, 4 draws). The game was characterized by a lot of Pisa ball possession (64%) and an FCS that defended extremely deeply. The central defenders Andrea Masiello and Giovanni Zaro stood in their own penalty area for almost the entire game and tried to beat away the numerous crosses. This worked perfectly because the hosts were relatively harmless in the game. Pisa attempted a shot on goal a total of 27 times (!), but only 5 came into goalkeeper Giacomo Poluzzi's goal. In a 4-5-1 formation, Bisoli barricades his team in their own half. Dusel What luck for the FCS and goalkeeper Poluzzi in the 60th minute. He looks really bad when he takes a Rus free kick, but the ball hits the post, the crossbar and then bounces forward from the goal line. FC Südtirol continues to fly on a wave of success in Serie B. The triumph on Saturday afternoon in Pisa was the fourth victory in a row. It came about through a header goal and a bit of luck.
