Next away win: FC Südtirol storms to the top

Sixth game under coach Pierpaolo Bisoli, sixth point win. Three away games, three wins in a row. Things are going well at FC Südtirol! The white and red beat Perugia 2-1 and climbed to a single-digit place in the table for the first time. They are in ninth place immediately behind title contenders Cagliari, who have the same number of points, and are therefore close to the playoff zone.

FC Südtirol's performance against the long-standing Serie A club from Umbria was by no means exhilarating, but it was compact and defensively quite convincing. The 30 or so FCS fans who traveled with us probably liked that too, but they didn't Silvio Baldini: The Perugia coach announced his resignation after the match.

Schiavone's inner instep FC Südtirol continues to play its way through Perugia's disorganized defense. This time Mazzocchi cleverly lets a cross from De Col through. The free-standing Schiavone pushes the ball into the arms of goalkeeper Gori with his inner instep (28th). Melchiorri's little dance Substitute Melchiorri first claims the ball against Berra, then he dances past Nicolussi, who was half-heartedly defending, and sinks the ball into the far corner with a straightforward shot – 1-1 (50th). Carretta's duster Perugia pushed for the winning goal for minutes, but it fell to FC Südtirol: Casiraghi skilfully danced around the penalty area, found the gap and played to Carretta, who pushed the ball in from a few meters.
