Lawn breakdown and Tait gold goal: FCS wins in the lagoon

On Saturday, Pierpaolo Bisoli's team once again put in a confident performance and won 1-0 against Venezia. The decisive factor that afternoon was captain Fabian Tait, who scored his second Serie B goal and was therefore the big match winner.

The big excitement occurred in the Stadio Pierluigi Penzo, which can only be reached by boat, immediately before kick-off. A muddy hole had opened up on the lawn. The reason for this was apparently an underground pipe burst. The Venezia groundskeeper worked feverishly to find a solution, but the problem dragged on and both teams had to go back to the dressing room for a short time. FC Südtirol once again impressed with a very tactically sophisticated performance. Venezia was visually superior, but the FCS defense was rock-solid. Andrea Masiello & Co. had the Lagunenstädters' well-known attack line under top striker Joel Pohjanpalo (he played 42 Bundesliga games in his career) well under control and struck ice cold on the other side with one of the few chances through Fabian Tait. Worth mentioning is the debut of Luca Fiordilino, who came on as a substitute in the second half and fit seamlessly into the FCS game.
