Coach Pierpaolo Bisoli promised a football festival in the run-up to the game. And that's what it turned out to be in the end - with a big happy ending for FC Südtirol. The White Reds won the quarter-final match against Reggina 1-0 on Friday evening thanks to a very late goal from Daniele Casiraghi and are sensationally in the playoff semi-finals. Captain Fabian Tait & Co. meet Bari there. The first leg will take place on Monday at 20.30 p.m. in Bolzano, the second leg on Friday, June 2nd in Apulia.

When Daniele Casiraghi got the ball in the Reggina penalty area in the 89th minute, looked up briefly, shot and saw the ball - deflected decisively by Giuseppe Loiacono - hit the net, the Drususstadion was shaken to its foundations. The cheering in the stands was unstoppable. 5419 fans came to the Bozen Arena, which was filled to capacity, 626 from Reggina, the rest celebrated uninhibitedly.

This goal was like a relief in a match in which the FCS supporters had been trembling for a long time. Reggina, the team of star coach Filippo Inzaghi, stepped on the accelerator, especially in the second half, and at times the FCS looked like an ailing boxer hanging on the ropes. But with luck, sense and goalie Giacomo Poluzzi the score was kept 0-0. When many were already expecting extra time, the big moment came for Casiraghi, who came on as a half-time substitute and conjured up the lucky punch with FCS's first shot on goal.

Downer Masiello

So the FC Südtirol fairy tale continues. Nobody would have expected a place in the semi-finals before the start of the season, but now it is a reality. The big downer on Friday evening: Head of defense Andrea Masiello had to be carried off the pitch on a stretcher in the second half. He injured his elbow during a rescue attempt and was taken to hospital. It is still unclear how long the veteran will be out, but there would be a very big question mark behind his appearance against Bari because of his past as a betting offender.

The highlights

38 ...... It takes minutes until the fans get their first chance to see it. Zan Majer's sugar pass flies over the FCS defense, where Gianluca Di Chiara sneaked free. But the defender's shot flies far over.
Good luck and bad luckThe FCS fans are taking their breath away! First, because Reggina striker Luigi Canotto plays wonderfully free in the penalty area and puts the ball on the post from an acute angle. Then because defense chief Andrea Masiello remains injured. The veteran injured his elbow during the rescue attempt and had to be carried off the field and replaced by Kevin Vinetot.
FingertipsZan Majer simply takes a shot from 25 meters, this time Giacomo Poluzzi has to stretch a long way to turn the ball away for a corner.
It's shaking!FC Südtirol is under a lot of pressure in the second half, but finds its way back into the game better at the end - and takes the lead with the first shot on goal! Daniele Casiraghi's blast in the penalty area is decisively deflected by captain Loiacono - and the Drususstadion shakes!
