Super-Odogwu saves FC Südtirol
No decision has yet been made in the fight for the coveted fourth place in Serie B: FC Südtirol missed out on a win in the home game against relegation-threatened Cittadella, but still saved an important point.

This game was not for the faint of heart: In the sold-out Drusus Stadium (only the away section was not completely full), the FCS struggled against Cittadella for a long time and went behind immediately after the break. But Raphael Odogwu's goal to make it 1-1 saved the White-Reds a point, which kept Bisoli's team in fourth place. The pursuers from Parma and Cagliari each won. With an away win next Friday evening in Modena, the FCS would definitely qualify for the playoff semi-finals.
At the FCS, winger Mirko Carretta was surprisingly in the starting line-up on Saturday afternoon. The last time this happened was in Cosenza in mid-February. Against Cittadella, FC Südtirol found it difficult to play its own game. The guests stood relatively deep and fought for every ball. The style of play is a little similar to that of the FCS, which didn't exactly play into the Bisoli team's hands.
At the break, Bisoli made three changes and switched to a 4-3-3. But right at the start, Mirko Antonucci, who trained at Roma, scored his 11th goal of the season and put Cittadella in the lead. The FCS was briefly shocked afterwards. In the end it was Raphael Odogwu who saved his team a point and thus fourth place with a wonderful side kick. The last time the FCS top scorer scored was at the end of January in the home win against Reggina - twice. Now “Odu” has 9 hits.
The highlights
Not much happened | Not much happens in the first round. Both teams come close to scoring, but big chances remain in short supply. Mazzocchi had the best opportunity in the 34th minute when he headed Rover's cross just wide of the goal. |
Shock after the break | Bisoli makes three changes at the break. Only three minutes after the restart came the cold shower: after a backheel assist, ex-Roma professional Antonucci scored from 18 meters to give the Cittadella the lead. |
Super Odogwu | What kind of hammer was that from Raphael Odogwu? In the 70th minute, the FCS striker took a Rover cross perfectly with his chest and scored from the turn with a side kick. Simply fantastic. |
Odogwu again | Huge opportunity for the FCS in stoppage time: Substitute Lunetta gets through on the wing and plays into the middle, where the free-standing Odogwu aims over the goal from a few meters. |
Penalty alert | In stoppage time, the referee points to the penalty spot after an alleged foul by Belardinelli. But according to video evidence, the penalty for Cittadella is - rightly - taken back. |
