Virtus takes a point from Chioggia

In front of their own fans, the people of Bolzano wanted to make up ground on the league leaders, who had five points more. And repeat the result from the first leg, when Virtus won 1-2 away. That didn't work, but at least the Talferstadt team got a point in a 1-1 draw. With four game days to go, the gap to new leaders Legnago is seven points.

The game began under the observation of a considerable contingent of law enforcement officers. There were around 20 fans in the guest block who had traveled from Chioggia for this game. After a short period of testing, the game picked up speed. In the 20th minute, Davide Cremonini crossed a free kick from the left onto the second post. From there, Tine Kavcic headed the ball back into the middle, where a defender was quicker to get his head on the ball. Two minutes later, Riccardo Serena had the chance to take the lead: his shot narrowly missed the goal guarded by Julian Pircher. After exactly half an hour, Cremonini passed the ball across for Arnaldo Kaptina. His shot from 20 meters was deflected by a Clodiense defender and went out of bounds. In the 35th minute, Minicucci tried to surprise Pircher with a long-range shot, but the ball just missed the post. Practically in return, Munaretto carelessly lost the ball to Yassine Bounou, who immediately sent Osorio on his way. Zecchin was able to safely defuse his deflected diagonal shot.

The home team finally took the lead in the 39th minute. Cremonini picked up momentum, went through the middle and played to Osorio on the right. He put the ball across, but no Virtus player reached it. The ball, which was poorly defused by a Clodiense defender, found its way to Elis Kaptina, who was able to calmly push the ball into the goal. The reaction from the guests was vehement. Pircher had to intervene when Aliu shot. A few moments later, Calabrese tried a direct free kick from the left to the near corner. Pircher was there again.

Virtue in happiness The second half started with a huge chance for Clodiense. After a free kick, Filippo Serena rushed through the penalty area and suddenly found himself alone in front of Pircher. But he couldn't be outwitted and defended himself against the leather with his foot. In the 51st minute, the Virtus players claimed a penalty: after a cross from Cremonini, the leather jumped into the hand of a defender. But the referee allowed the game to continue. In the 55th minute, Riccardo Serena tried to surprise Pircher with a long shot from 40 meters. The ball went over the crossbar, but the Virtus goalkeeper would have been there too.

In the 66th minute, the guests celebrated the equalizer: a free kick from the right went through the penalty area, and Aliu, positioned at the second post, headed it in to make it 1-1. Four minutes later, Pircher fended off a Tonazzi free kick from 25 meters forward. Aliu made a save, but the ball landed on the crossbar, bounced onto the line and was defused from there. In the 74th minute, Tognini escaped on the right side and played into the middle, where a Virtus player directed the ball towards Pircher in front of Aliu, who was ready to shoot. He was able to fend off the leather with a reflex.

Important game is coming up Just two minutes later, Clodiense had another chance to score the second goal. Tinazzi flicked a free kick from just outside the penalty area just wide of the post. In the 2st minute, Virtus was lucky again when Filippo Serena hit the aluminum again - for the third time in the game. Just two minutes later another goal came from the woodwork: this time Pircher directed Rossi's header onto the post. In the 81th minute, Pircher saved the point again. When Rossi shot, he blocked it with his body. Nothing more happened in the five minutes of injury time. Now Virtus can take a breather for ten days before the extremely important away game at table 89 next Sunday. Adriese is coming up (3 p.m.).
