“Jergina” comeback is not rewarded: 2:3 defeat against Voghera

The fifth division team from Pusteria is getting deeper and deeper into the relegation vortex: after last Sunday's 0:4 defeat against Darfo Boario, there was a 2:3 defeat against Voghera on this match day. Hansi Mair and Co. are unlikely to be consoled by the fact that this came about extremely unfortunately.

St. Georgen put on a weak performance in the first half and allowed their opponents to make it 10-35 with two goals from De Angelis (2th) and Coccu (0th). The home team, who had to give up four important players with the suspended Fabian Obrist and Armin Mayr, as well as the injured Benjamin Althuber (bruised rib) and Stefan Rabensteiner (knee injury), only found their way into the game after the break.

But then they really turned up the heat: In the 54th minute, Orfanello was fouled in the penalty area and Hansjörg Mair converted the penalty to make it 1-2. The "Jergina" didn't let up anymore and were rewarded for their aggressive style of play in the 69th minute when Orfanello put Peter Mair in the spotlight after a short corner and he pushed the ball over the line to make it 2-2. But this wasn't to be the South Tyroleans' day, because just five minutes later the completely submerged guests scored the winning goal. A shot from Micheloni bounced off the post and into the goal, sealing a 3-2 victory for the ambitious rivals from Voghera.
