Narrow home defeat: FCS remains without a point against Parma

Against the traditional club that had recently been in crisis, coach William Viali sent his men onto the field in a 4-3-3 formation. While Salurn's Fabian Tait returned to left defense after his suspension, two other players from the province, Michael Cia and Hannes Fink, were in the White-Red's starting line-up. On the other hand, Manuel Scavone from Bolzano was also allowed to play from the start.

FC Südtirol had more of the game in the first half. The home side gained a visual advantage and pushed Parma deep into their own half, but failed to create any compelling chances. The only notable shots from Bassoli after a Ciurria corner (29th) and Obodo from distance (33rd) were too imprecise so that no real danger was posed to the Parma goal.

For a long time there was little from the guests in the first 45 minutes. Shortly before the break, the former Serie A club missed their best chance to take the lead: After a counterattack via Scavone and Calaiò, Nocciolini suddenly found himself alone in front of Marcone - but the striker was initially denied by the keeper and headed the ball over in the second attempt empty gate. So it remained 0-0 at halftime.

Scavone prepares the decisive hit Almost nothing happened in the Drusus Stadium in the first quarter of an hour of the second half of the game. The game became more and more flat and still had few highlights. In the 61st minute, Parma took the lead out of nowhere: After coordination problems in the FCS defense, Scavone reacted quickest and passed through to Nocciolini, who this time stayed cool in front of Marcone and scored to make it 1-0.

After the visitors' opening goal, FC Südtirol found it even more difficult to get in front of the opponent's goal. Parma defended cleverly, so the white and reds didn't have much to offer apart from a failed shot attempt by substitute Torregrossa. Nothing changed in the course of the game until the final whistle: the Viali team was too harmless on offense - so after 90 minutes Parma were able to celebrate the full spoils, while FC Südtirol had to leave the field as losers for the first time since matchday 14 .

Narrow home defeat: FCS remains without a point against Parma

FC Südtirol remained without a counter on matchday 17 of the Lega Pro Championship for the first time since November 12th. In the home game against Parma, Hannes Fink and Co. were defeated 0-1.
