Can the “Jergina” defeat Mapellobonate again?

In the home game, the Pusterers offered one of their best performances of the season. Back then, on the 13th matchday of Serie D, they brought their opponents to their knees 3-1 in front of their home crowd. The Pusterers fell behind at the beginning. In the second half they came out of the locker room transformed and after just a minute Peter “Magic” Mair equalized. The decisive goals finally came in the final minutes (between the 85th and 87th minutes) by Hansi Mair and Fabian Obrist.

Whether South Tyrol's only Serie D club can repeat this "tremendous" performance on Sunday remains uncertain. At the moment, the people of Pusteria don't seem to be able to find their way out of their crisis. In the second half of the season, the Pusterers have only won one championship game, namely the catch-up game against Sant Angelo on Wednesday, January 30th. Since that day there has been one defeat after another.

The opposing team from the 6.000-inhabitant community of Mapello (and Bonate) in the province of Bergamo at the foot of Monte Canto is currently secured in the middle of the table with 42 points. Mapellobonate has gained a lot of self-confidence in the last two matches with victories over Fersina and Sant'Angelo and doesn't want to deviate from the path to success against St. Georgen either.

The home team will be in full action on Sunday and will particularly rely on the goalscoring qualities of Mattia Mauri and Diego Pedrocca. Coach Patrizio Morini, on the other hand, has to call on the injured Daniel Holzner and Moritz Eisenstecken, but can again rely on captain Roland Harrasser on the left side of the defense. ASC St.Georgen is currently four points away from the playout zone.
