Crisis meeting between NOFV and SV Babelsberg

Berlin (SID) The Northeast German Football Association (NOFV) and regional league team SV Babelsberg want to resolve their disagreements at a crisis meeting at the beginning of March. The NOFV announced on Tuesday that both parties had agreed on this “joint meeting”: “This date offers everyone involved the opportunity to prepare for a solution-oriented discussion.” The NOFV had submitted an application to the association court to open proceedings against the club. The basis given was Babelsberger's "non-fulfillment of payment obligations" to the regional association. If proceedings are opened, the club will be banned from playing until its payment obligations are met. "We will examine the request extensively. But given the NOFV's constant lies, I see little chance of reaching an agreement," the Babelsberg board then announced on the club's website. Babelsberg had missed a deadline for paying a fine of 7000 euros. Babelsberg received the fine for throwing pyrotechnics and storming the court in the previous season's game against Energie Cottbus on April 28th (2:1). Babelsberg is particularly bothered by the fact that the original verdict stated that a Babelsberg fan had shouted "Nazi pigs out" in response to racist and anti-Semitic insults from some Cottbus residents.
