Curious: football game canceled because of dyed hair

The duel between the women's teams from the universities of Fuzhou and Jimei was canceled at short notice because a Fuzhou player had dyed her hair. The game was therefore scored 3-0 for Jimei without a fight. Both teams had already been warned in advance of the match scheduled in the southeastern province of Fujian that no player with dyed hair should show up for the game. However, numerous players did not adhere to the requirement. A recent visit to the hair salon didn't help either Since the referee didn't want to start the game like that, the students bought black paint at the nearest hair salon. However, even after dyeing her hair back, a Fuzhou player was deemed ineligible to play because her hair was “still not black enough.” As a result, Fuzhou no longer had enough players available, so they were unable to compete. While there was widespread outrage on social media, Fuzhou University accepted the decision. The ban on dyed hair is "in line with the relevant regulations" of the national Ministry of Education, China News quoted a university spokesman as saying: "The relevant documents stipulate that players are not allowed to dye their hair, have strange hairstyles or wear any accessories." This is a nationwide decree that was already in force before the game. The Communist Party around President Xi Jinping in China uses football as a showcase for its pursuit of a uniform society. The men's national team players therefore had to cover their tattoos during their recent international matches.
