State league: Bozner FC wants to get back to the top – basement duel in Milland

The two matches on Saturday, Natz-Bozner FC and Milland-Sarntal, will each kick off at 15 p.m. The orange-blacks from the state capital have to travel to the Eisacktal and want to regain the top of the table with a win against the Natzer, which the Merano team has held since last Sunday thanks to the 1-0 win in the early match against bottom team Vintl. In the first half of the season, the people of Bolzano won 2-1 and on paper they are also the clear favorites on Saturday.

The game between Milland and Sarntal, however, is under a completely different light. Both teams are stuck in the bottom of the table with five wins each this season. In the first half of the season the two teams drew 0-0. While the Sarner team started the second half of the season with two wins against Vintl and autumn champions St. Pauls, they suffered two defeats in the last two games (against Latsch and Meran). The newcomers from the Isarco Valley have only scored a “threesome” once in 2013, namely in the opening match against Pichl Gsies. On Saturday, however, both teams will be subject to “no losing” if they want to get out of the danger zone.

The games Latsch-St. Pauls, Weinstraße Süd-Stegen and Neugries-Virtus Don Bosco will meanwhile take place on Easter Monday at 16 p.m. While Latsch and St. Pauls, as well as Weinstraße Süd and Stegen shared the points on the first round match day, Neugries prevailed 2-0 in the city derby against Virtus Don Bosco. The Bozen suburban club would like to repeat this victory on Monday. Not an easy undertaking, because the White-Greens are currently the strongest team in the second half of the season and have not lost any of their four games so far.

The first three games of the 20th regional league matchday were played last Sunday and ended with home wins for Meran, Moos and Bozner Boden. There are two more early games on the program on Saturday, while only three matches remain for the originally planned match day on Easter Monday.
