State league: Latsch climbs out of the cellar

The Vinschgers put a severe damper on St. Paul's promotion hopes with a confident 2-0 win. Latsch took the lead in the 3rd minute of the game through Stefan Rinner and then skillfully controlled the game. Roland Schwemm made it 2-0 in the 60th minute for the early decision.

The other two matches ended goalless: Stegen, third in the table, did not get beyond a draw against Weinstraße Süd in Kurtatsch, while the Bolzano city derby between Neugries and Virtus Don Bosco also ended without a winner.

Bozner FC gave up on Saturday

Three games in the 20th round had already been played on March 24th. On the afternoon of Holy Saturday two more games were added, namely Natz against Bozner FC and Milland against Sarntal.

Natz won 1-0 against Bozner FC in front of their own crowd. Simon Senoner scored the goal of the day in the second half (64th). Due to the defeat, Bozner FC missed catching up with leaders Meran. Natz has consolidated eighth place in the table.

ASC Sarntal Football had the upper hand in the basement derby against Milland. The Sarners scored one goal in each half and won 2-0. The match winner was Raimund Kienzl, who scored a brace. In the 1-0, he beat the Millander goalie with a "gurkerl" after a long throw-in, while in the 2-0 he maneuvered an assist from Thomas Kröss into the far corner with his heel. Milland tried long shots, but either the ball went just wide of the goal, or the Eisacktaler found their master in Martin "Motze" Thaler. Thanks to the victory, the Eschgfeller team achieved an important success in the fight to stay in the league and left the relegation zone for the time being.
