It has been half a year and six days since bottom team Pichl Gsies last won the national league championship. Back on September 14th, the Puster team won 3-0 against Bozen in front of their home crowd. Since then they have had to share the points eight times and have suffered a total of eight defeats, five of which were by just one goal. Last Sunday, the bottom of the table came very close to their first win in six months. Against Obermais, second in the table, the Gsiesers were 75-2 up until the 0th minute before they conceded three more goals before the final whistle and in the end were once again left empty-handed after an unfortunate defeat.

On Sunday, neo-coach Markus Schwienbacher's protégés will try to get back to winning ways in the away match against Weinstraße Süd. Not an easy task, but perhaps the yellow-blacks, who have often been able to take advantage of their role as outsiders, can turn things around against the third-place team. The Gsiesers desperately need this if they want to work their way up from the bottom of the table and make the leap to the safe shore. The first leg ended with a 1-0 win for Unterlandler.
