State league season 2012-13: This is ASV Vintl

After five years in the 1st amateur league, Vintl unexpectedly managed to get promoted to the national league in the last championship. The team from Pustertal took second place in the final table and, together with Milland, were promoted to the “green table”.

After a short summer break due to the promotion games, preparing for the coming season was not easy for Vintl. In addition, some important “cornerstones” left the team. The club tried to fill the gaps with players from its own youth, as youth work has always worked well in recent years.

The upcoming season will certainly not be a walk in the park for the Pusterers. Vintl, under the leadership of Florian Weissteiner, is sending a very young team into the race that will have one goal in mind: staying in the league in the national league.

Additions New for the coming season are defender Stefan Fiwickeler, who is moving from Vahrn to Vintl, and midfielder Paolo Edoardo De Sa' Peixoto. Simon Weissteiner, on the other hand, celebrated a comeback, moving from St. Georgen back to the Lower Puster Valley. A defender and two midfielders from our own youth team, Johannes Nairz, Aaron Gruber and Gabriel Unterhuber, were promoted to the first team. In addition, Christian Leitner (midfield) and Christian Zingerle (striker), who were in Vintl's recreational team last season, will now play in the state league.

departures With Reinhard Putzer, Heinz Pezzei and Michael Kerschbaumer, three important top performers have hung up their football boots, while Thomas Bracket is taking a break and Hannes Oberhofer moved to Mühlbach. Meanwhile, Julian Lechner is moving abroad to study.

Start of training and test matches Vintl started preparing for the season on Wednesday, July 18th. Coach Florian Weissteiner's protégés also played three test games in July: the Pusterers lost 0-3 against SS Barletta Calcio, 1-5 against Schabs and a 1-1 draw against Welschellen. At the beginning of August they were dispatched by Mühlbach (1-2 defeat) before celebrating a 11-1 win against Terento on August 0th. In the first phase of the Italian Cup of the Oberliga and Landesliga, Christian Zingerle & Co. meet Stegen and Brixen.
