State league season 2012-13: This is FC Meran

After three years on the coaching bench of Virtus Don Bosco, Massimo Bertinato moved back to his regional league rivals in Merano, where he took over as head coach from Paul Pircher. After being relegated from the top league three years ago, the Kurstadt team are entering their fourth state league season in a row this year.

In the last championship, the traditional club finished ninth. Now he has high hopes for Massimo Bertinato, who should lead the Merano team back into higher league territory. The majority of the existing squad has already been confirmed for the coming season, especially the dangerous offensive player Cesare Scaratti.

Additions Two players, Oliver Gasser and Arno Brancalion, have moved from Haslach to FC Meran. Also new are Janusch Garzisi (Virtus Don Bosco) and Martin Peloso (Schenna). The squad was supplemented by kickers from our own youth, namely the two defenders Erijon Sula and Patrick Feller, as well as the three midfielders Dial Ousmane, Ferdinando Mandarino and Gianluca Fraschetti.

Start of training and previous results The Merano team started preparing for the 2012-13 state league season in mid-July and the team failed in the first round of the cup against Obermais. In the championship, the club suffered a 2-4 defeat against Latzfons at the beginning before scoring points against Virtus Don Bosco on the second matchday. There were then two defeats against Stegen and Sarntal. They finally celebrated their second success in Vintl on matchday five before having to settle for a 1-1 draw against St. Pauls on Friday.
