State league season 2012-13: This is SG Latzfons Verdings

On May 31, 1995 - in the playoff for the championship of the 1st Amateur League (District D) against Mühlbach/Vals - Latzfons achieved promotion to the state league for the first time on penalties. The first adventure in the highest amateur league in South Tyrol only lasted a year, but the Eisacktaler managed to make it back into the regional league in the 2001/2002 season.

There was only a small setback in the years 2002 to 2004 when Latzfons Verdings was relegated to the 2nd amateur league due to a generational change. Since returning in the 2006/2007 season, SG Unabsteigbar has been successfully fighting to stay in the league every year.

With a squad of 24 players, the village club is now entering its sixth state league season in a row and wants to achieve its goal of staying in the league as quickly as possible. If necessary, the Stuefer team will, as in previous years, fight for it until the last match day.

Additions The squad primarily includes players from our own youth ranks: Manuel Senn, Simon Oberrauch and Fabian Obrist, two midfielders and a defender respectively, will be introduced to the first team in the coming season.

departures The two midfielders Giuseppe Miuli and Christian Simmerle said goodbye. While Miuli is moving to Barbian, Simmerle will be on the pitch for Feldthurns next season. Defender Stefan Thaler, on the other hand, has hung up his football boots.

Start of training and test matches Latzfons Verdings resumed training on July 18th and in the test matches so far, the Eisacktalers have had three wins and two defeats. While they lost 3:5 against Ridnaun, they beat Steinegg 5:2 and Steinhaus 4:0. At the Walter Gramm Memorial Tournament they were beaten 3-1 by hosts Sarntal, but celebrated a 1-0 win against Virtus Don Bosco. In the first cup round of the Oberliga and Landesliga last Sunday, where Franz Stuefer's boys met Tramin, Tramin had the upper hand 3-0. On Sunday, however, the team from Latzfons Verdings will welcome Meran to the championship opener.
