Last-minute win: Gliozzi shoots the FCS to stay in the league

The 21-year-old striker once again became the match winner and hit the ball into the net with his first big chance to make it 1-0 in the second minute of stoppage time. The prestige victory in the venerable Tardini Stadium was therefore a done deal.

FC Südtirol didn’t steal anything – on the contrary. Against a Parma that was disappointing for long stretches and where Manuel Scavone from Bolzano was missing due to a yellow card suspension, the FCS was particularly convincing in the first half. Tulli (5th), Tait (6th) and Furlan (17th) put the first pinpricks, while the newly formed defense (coach Colombo switched from a three-man to a four-man chain), consisting of Riccardi and Di Nunzio (inside) as well as Tait and Bassoli (outside), didn't let anything burn. Parma only had their first chance after 39 minutes, but Nocciolini's overhead kick went over the goal.

After the break, order was somewhat lost in the FCS game, which is why Parma came up and increasingly had the advantage of the field. However, this did not result in any concrete opportunities. When most of those involved were already expecting a 0-0 draw, Gliozzi ran into a ball in the penalty area and blasted it into the goal with a powerful shot. The fact that his lower body was completely torn after celebrating the goal with his teammates shows how much joy the FCS had. Relegation is under wraps.

Relegation is a reality! Thanks to a 1-0 win at second-placed Parma, FC Südtirol has achieved the mathematical certainty of playing in the Lega Pro next season. The man of the evening was Ettore Gliozzi, who made it 1-0 in stoppage time.
