Levico is relegated to the top league: these are the consequences

The domestic regional league is particularly affected by Levico's relegation: Because there is no further place available in the upper league, the runner-up in the regional league has no right to be promoted. This means: In addition to the South Tyrolean and Trentino regional league champions (St. Pauls and Anaune Valle Di Non, editor's note), no third team will be promoted to the top league this season - always assuming that all teams register as planned.

The teams from the lowest region in the table are also “suffering” from Levico’s relegation: now there are four instead of just three regional league teams that have to go to the 1st amateur league.

1nd amateur league When it comes to promotion, nothing changes in the 1st Amateur League: In addition to the two champions of Groups A and B, the winner of the playoffs between the two runners-up in the table and the cup winner also receives the right to contest the 2017/18 season in the national league.

However, Levico's relegation has consequences for the teams that are fighting to stay in the 1st Amateur League: Because there are now five relegated teams from the 1st Amateur League, the third relegated team in addition to the two teams per district is also the loser of the playoff between the two third-to-last in districts A and B.

2nd amateur league In the 2nd amateur league everything remains the same: In addition to the winners of districts A, B and C, the winner of the playoffs (three runners-up + cup winners) will also be granted promotion rights. However, six teams have to be relegated to the 3rd amateur league, i.e. two teams per district.

On Sunday, Levico Terme, the second regional Serie D representative after Virtus Bozen, had to move to the top league. The effects of the Trentino club's relegation are felt even in the lower amateur categories of our province.
