Levico Terme: Friday is the day of truth

From 11 a.m. the appeal of Rende will be dealt with, to whose fate the future of Levico Terme is also linked. Why? If the Calabrian club's appeal is upheld, the southern Italians would be promoted to Serie C - the place that would become free in Serie D would then go to Levico Terme.

According to experts, the chances of this happening are not bad - and for a special reason. Rende submitted his request for promotion to Serie C (“domanda di ripescaggio”) on time, but was informed by the association immediately before the deadline that the bank guarantee required for a “ripescaggio” was not in order . The Calabrians reacted immediately and provided a proper bank guarantee just a few days later - but by then the deadline for the “ripescaggio” had already passed and promotion was off the table.

The club didn't want to accept that and therefore filed an appeal, which will be heard in Rome on Friday. If the appeal is accepted, Rende will be promoted to Series C and Levico Terme will be promoted to Series D. This would free up a place in the top league, which Benacense would take as the winner of the playoff between the two runners-up in the regional leagues Trentino and South Tyrol.

Bertoldi already in top form One thing is already certain: If the appeal is not upheld and Levico stays in the top league, Trentino would be number 1 candidate for promotion - the quality of coach Stefano Manfioletti's team is too great. Star striker Fabio Bertoldi in particular is already in strong form: just on Tuesday, the Salurner scored a brace to help his team win 2-1 against Mori, and a few days earlier he made it 1-1 with his goal -Equalizer against Serie D club Correggese.
