Media: Aubameyang transfer imminent - fans would welcome change

Dortmund (SID) Top scorer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is about to move from Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund to Arsenal. According to the Bild newspaper, the transfer for around 63 million euros will be announced on Monday. At the beginning of the week, the trade magazine kicker and the Ruhr Nachrichten also reported on an agreement on the transfer fee between the two clubs. It's just a matter of details. "Our demands must be met. So far, Arsenal's attempts have not met our demands," said BVB sports director Michael Zorc on Saturday before the Bundesliga game against SC Freiburg (2:2). According to media reports, the Gunners had offered 50 million up to that point. The clubs only have a few days left to reach a final agreement - the winter transfer window in the Bundesliga and the English Premier League closes on Wednesday. Aubameyang (28) was called as a witness on Monday before the Dortmund regional court in the trial against Sergej W. following the bomb attack on the BVB team. He excused himself by citing illness. In the event of the looming transfer of Aubameyang, the vast majority of BVB fans will apparently not shed a tear for the goalscorer. In a representative survey by the opinion research institute Civey for the online portals sportbuzzer and t-online.de, 71 percent of Borussia supporters were in favor of selling the Gabonese immediately after Aubameyang's repeated escapades. According to just 21 percent of its fans, Dortmund should keep the enfant terrible despite the annoying capers.
