Tired kick in Meda: FCS and Renate play a draw

FCS coach Giovanni Stroppa had to do without the injured Gliozzi and Gavazzi in the away game in Meda, while the injured Tagliani was replaced by Brugger and initially sat on the bench, as did the flu-weakened Spagnoli. From there they followed an initially extremely uneventful game in which FC Südtirol was more active, but was unable to crack Renate's defense. It was only after around ten minutes that Kirilov and Fink fired the first warning shots. The Rittner failed to hit the crossbar in the 21st minute. Afterwards, it was Renate who found the first top-class scoring opportunity after a failed defensive move by the guests. Florian's header just missed the goal. After that, the Lombards found their way into the game better, but FCS goalie Miori was rarely challenged.

The second half started very promisingly for the South Tyroleans: after a fine combination with the busy Kirilov, Furlan got the shot. However, he placed it next to the goal. After that, there was a long ebb in the game for both teams. Renate was only able to cause real danger once, but Brugger was there and saved on the line. For their part, FC Südtirol repeatedly lacked the necessary penetration. Substitutes Crovetto, Girasole and Spagnoli couldn't change anything, although the latter at least got the ball close to the goal in the 71st minute. However, he failed at the side netting. Both teams filled the last twenty minutes of the game with tired midfield skirmishes and in the end it remained a goalless draw.
