After eleven and a half years: Halil Altintop returns to FCK

Kaiserslautern (SID) Halil Altintop returns to Betzenberg eleven and a half years after his departure from 1. FC Kaiserslautern. The 35-year-old striker comes from Czech first division club Slavia Prague and signed a contract in the Palatinate until the summer of 2019, which is independent of the league. The bottom team in the 2nd Bundesliga announced this on Wednesday. The former Turkish international was already hunting for goals for FCK from 2003 to 2006. "The FCK is a matter close to my heart. I have a lot in common with the region, the city and the club and I like to come back to Kaiserslautern, where a lot of things started for me," said Altintop, whose partner Laura comes from Kaiserslautern. "Halil is a thoroughbred footballer who played in the Bundesliga last season. He has a lot of experience and has proven his quality over many years in the first Bundesliga and also in the Turkish national team," said FCK sports director Boris Notzon. In total, Altintop played in 96 competitive games for Lautern and scored 29 goals. In his last season for the Red Devils in 2005/2006 alone, he scored 20 goals this season. In total, Altintop appeared 351 times in the Bundesliga for FC Augsburg, Eintracht Frankfurt, Schalke 04 and FCK, scoring 67 goals.
