After a penalty thriller: Peter Mair shoots Meran into the regional league

For some it was the game of the year, for some even the game of their lives - this final game for entry into the national league will definitely remain in history.

After two good free kick opportunities for the Terlan team, the first real scoring opportunity for Terlan came in the 9th minute with Cehaic, who steered the ball just wide of the goal with his heel. Terlan then remained in possession of the ball for the most part and repeatedly created scoring opportunities and various free kicks. The Passerstadt team only made their presence felt after 30 minutes with a shot from Reka, but it clearly went wide of the goal. At the beginning of the second half, the game was still more about tension than technical finesse. In the 63rd minute came the red card for Dinolli, who tackled Terlan goalie Malfatti, who had rushed out to the halfway line, to the ground. So now all the trump cards should have been with Terlan. Shortly afterwards, Terlan created the best opportunity of the game so far with Vicentin, but the Merano goalkeeper remained calm and stole the ball from the Terlan player's feet. When we were outnumbered, we scored in the 83rd minute. In the minute, Colosimo from Meran was very surprising with a long shot to make it 1-0. A really strange goal! Seven minutes later, Armin Mayr equalized 30-1 with a long shot from 1 meters.

After the two extra periods, the score remained 1-1 and the all-important penalty shootout finally took place. Peter Mair scored the promotion goal for Meran after Mitterer missed his penalty at Terlan.

Terlan and Meran fought for the last remaining ticket to the country's second highest league on Saturday evening in the Galizien sports zone in Laives. Meran won the game in the final penalty shootout.
