Oberliga: Ahrntal moves into the top quarter of the table with a 3-0 win

The Ahrntalers were 1-0 up at the half-time whistle, but were then able to increase their lead to 3-0 in the second half of the game. After neo-coach Johannes Piffrader's boys achieved a draw against Eppan last Sunday, they jumped from 13th to second place with their first triumph in the new championship against Albiano.

Naturns and Eppan, however, shared the points. The match ended 3:3. The Überetscher were clearly superior in the first half and went into halftime with a 2-0 lead, with Lukas Greif and Joey Filippin getting on the scoresheet. However, the tide turned in the second half of the game. Naturns fought and equalized with a brace from Felix Rungg, who converted a cross from Philipp Ausserer and a penalty. In the 80th minute, Felix Peer even put the Naturns team, which had only had nine players on the field since the 77th (yellow-red card for Damian Huber, red for Götsch), into the lead. However, Alex Feltrin managed to equalize in the 94th minute after he poked the ball past Uli Rungg into the net following preparatory work from Christian Avancini.

In addition to Ahrntal, Plose also celebrated its first victory in this championship on Sunday. The Eisacktaler defeated newly promoted FC Bozen 96 with 2-0 goals. The club from the state capital is the only one in the top league that has not yet picked up a point. Meanwhile, Brixen and Salurn played in a goalless draw, while Tramin suffered a 1:4 defeat at home against Alense.

While the St. Martin – Obermais game took place on Saturday evening, the remaining matches of the second league match day kicked off on Sunday afternoon. Ahrntal celebrated a 3-0 win at home against Albiano and took the lead in the table with Salurn, Alense and Mori.
