Oberliga: Ahrntal wants to defend its top position on derby Sunday

Besides Salurn, the “Töldra” are the only South Tyrolean top league club that is still unbeaten after four games. This is the first time in the five-year league membership that SSV Ahrntal has greeted from the top of the table. Johannes Piffrader's protégés are a force, especially on the artificial turf pitch in St. Johann: On the second matchday, Albiano was defeated 3-0, followed two weeks later by a 4-1 win against Bozen 96. After two draws in Eppan and Comano, it's finally time the first away win.

However, the away game in St. Andrä will prove to be a real test, as Plose has not yet given up a point at home either. The Regele squad is enormously inspired by their recent series of successes (seven points from three games) and wants to prove their excellent form against Ahrntal. Both teams have to specify one player each: Michael Niederwanger (Ahrntal) and Roman Prosch (Plose).

A win for Plose would put Salurn in the cards on Sunday, then the Unterlanders could overtake the Ahrntalers with a point win in the away game against Obermais. After their recent successes, the Unterlanders are the clear favorites in the duel with the struggling Meranians, who are still waiting for their first full point win.

Also at the bottom of the table is FC Bozen 96, who got off to a classic false start with four defeats. In the home game against Naturns, the newcomer finally wants to gain traction. The fourth South Tyrolean derby takes place in Rungg, where FC Eppan asks SSV Brixen to dance. Tramin (in Mori) and St. Martin (in Albiano) have to play away on Sunday. Kick-off at all pitches will be at 15.30:XNUMX p.m.
