Oberliga: The top duo stumbles

These draws hurt: Virtus Bozen had to settle for a 2-2 draw in the home game against bottom-placed Mezzcorona, while St. Georgen only played 1-1 against bottom-placed Rotaliana and dropped two points. Virtus fell behind after just four minutes in the Drusus Stadium, but then turned the game on its head with goals from Max Dalpiaz and Hannes Kiem (first goal in the green and white jersey) before half-time. In the second half, Andrea Ciesa gave the title favorites a blow to make it 2-2. St. Georgen, on the other hand, took the lead against Rotaliana as planned through Nagler, but just a few minutes before the end Alberto Albertini completed the surprise and stole a point from “Jergina” with his goal.

The second half of the league season kicked off on Sunday. The 17th matchday had a lot to offer - in addition to three South Tyrolean derbies, the top duo Virtus Bozen and St. Georgen also lost points.
