Oberliga: The top game takes place in Salurn - UPDATE

In the Unterland, the fifth-placed team (Salurn) and third-placed teams face each other at the weekend. The home side are only one point behind their rivals from the Puster Valley. After three defeats in a row against Levico, St. Martin and Brixen, the “Teldra” celebrated a shooting festival against Alense last Sunday and got back on the road to success with a 4-0 win. And they don't want to lose their winning ways next Sunday either.

But the Salurners also have their sights set on three points in the top game against Coach Piffrader's boys on Sunday in order to overtake the Pusterers in the table. In addition to the home advantage, they rely primarily on their remarkable defense. Goalie Walter Corradini and Co. conceded the fewest goals in the entire league this season with 21 goals. In the first leg, the yellow-reds won 4-2 away.

“It's a very special game for Salurn,” explains offensive player Max Dalpiaz (10 goals and 6 assists), who will play his 99th game in the Salurn jersey on Sunday. “If we make it into the top 3, that would be a huge success. The first two places are probably taken, but I think we have what it takes to aim for third place.”

Second-placed St. Martin, on the other hand, has an easier task as they face the Tramin team on matchday 28. The “Mortiner” are currently four points behind leader Dro and are hoping for a misstep by the class leaders at the weekend in order to be able to move closer to the Trentino team in the table.

The third South Tyrolean derby is now taking place in Eppan, where FC Bozen 96 are guests and want to collect important points in the fight against relegation. After the impressive performance against Dro last Sunday, the club from the state capital should travel to Überetsch with a lot of self-confidence. Eppan, on the other hand, wants to repeat the 3-1 win in the first half of the season.

The 28th matchday is completed by the games Brixen-Levico, Albiano-Comano, Obermais-Mori, Alense-Naturns and Dro-Plose (Sunday, 19 p.m.).

The Oberliga championship goes into the next round on Sunday, April 28th. In the top half of the table, the South Tyrolean derby between Salurn and Ahrntal is the main focus.
