Oberliga: The hit of the round takes place in St. Georgen - VIDEO

The “Jergina” and Naturns meet in St. Georgen. Both teams celebrated a perfect start to the new league season: While St. Georgen took three points from the furthest away trip of the season to Storo at Calciochiese, Naturns swept Comano from the field with a 5-1. The duel is also special for another reason: St. Georgen striker Matthias Bacher, a long-time figurehead from Naturns, meets his former club.

In the second South Tyrolean duel, St. Martin and Bozner FC face each other. The “Mortiner” gained self-confidence during the week with a 7-0 win in the Italian Cup game against Plose after the 0-0 draw against Arco at the start of the championship, while the Bolzano team are looking for compensation after the 1-2 defeat against Lavis.

All other South Tyrolean teams will compete against Trentino competitors on Sunday. Brixen, which has to make do without defense chief Markus Fiechter (injured) and offensive artist Gabriel Tessaro (suspended), hosts Calciochiese. Newly promoted St. Pauls wants to follow up on their opening win against Brixen in Lavis, while Virtus Bozen (against Arco) and Tramin (against Benacense) want to confirm their good early form in front of their home crowd (both teams won the first game). Obermais, on the other hand, has its sights set on its first championship win against Anaune Valle di Non, while Ahrntal wants to secure its first “threesome” at Comano.
