Oberliga: The showdown can begin

Which teams have to go to the national league? That is the crucial question of the last league matchday. A lot of things can happen during the final 90 minutes.

Eppan has the worst cards in its hand: The Überetscher, currently in second-to-last place with 26 points, need a win in the Ahrntal and at the same time have to hope for a defeat from Weinstraße Süd (14th place) and Calciochiese (13th) in order to be able to beat the latter team to force a playoff.

Weinstraße Süd, on the other hand, has it in their own hands to keep the class: with a win against St. Martin, the Unterlanders would be saved, as Arco (12th) and Calciochiese (13th) will take the points in a direct duel - always assuming that only three Oberliga teams are relegated.

If there were four relegations (that would be the case if all three regional Serie D representatives were relegated), then Ahrntal would still have to tremble. The “Teldra”, currently in 31th place with 11 points, could theoretically slip to fourth from last place and therefore need at least one point against Eppan in order to achieve the mathematical certainty of playing in the top regional league next season.

All further decisions have already been made. The eternal duel between Obermais and Naturns should still be explosive. In the first half of the season, the Lower Vinschgers suffered a 0-5 defeat, which Bacher & Co. want to overturn at the end of the season.
